As Fall Approaches

As September 1st hit, the weather in ND seemed to become very fall like, very quickly. We have had several nights below freezing and several days in the cool 40s thanks to a wind chill. It is amazing how quickly everything is changing! The fields are all getting harvested, the rolling hills are turning from green to a beautiful gold, the trees are already changing and there is a brisk chill in the air. Yes, I do believe that fall is almost here!! We have tested out our new heating system in the house and are happy with the result so far.. I am beginning to pull out our winter gear (including long johns!) and am ready to add my heated mattress pad to the bed.  We made a big purchase today and have added a snow blower to our household. My boss believes that we will get our first snow in 3-4 weeks... we shall see!!

We just enjoyed a truly wonderful visit with some very dear friends. The visit was just what we all needed and it even worked out that Phillip had some real time off while they were here.  Their warmth, love and excitement over our new adventure was so welcomed!! Their visit made our new house feel even more like home : )

Life continues 'like normal' around here. Phillip is officially done with training and is currently on the 'extra board' meaning that he fills in on various jobs as needed. So far, he is getting a lot more time off on this assignment than he had with his training - it is a much needed break! I continue to enjoy my job and will soon officially be a public notary for the great state of North Dakota.  Phillip has already bought my real estate book but I'm not quite ready for that yet... maybe in October : )

  1. Sounds like you are fitting in quite nicely. I'm glad. Send pictures of the snow. Take care.
